“The Drunken Boat”, analysis of the poem by Arthur Rimbaud
“The Drunken Boat” of poetry and the sober bottom of life
Did the young man from the French Charleville know that he had created a unique work of world literature, which would later become a symbolist anthem? Probably knew. Indeed, the life of Arthur Rimbaud (1854 – 1891) was unusual and seemed to be devoid of common sense. At an age when many talents just entered literature, he had already left it. Rambo managed to write all his ingenious verses before the age of twenty. Then, after analyzing contemporary poetry, he decided that it was better to travel the world and make a living by trading.
“Sensation”, analysis of the poem by Arthur Rimbaud
In the poem, the image of a vagabond traveler who is eager for merging with nature and the world, characteristic of Rimbaud’s poetry, is created. Nature for the poet is not a symbol and a temple, but a living creature that can only be known through the senses.
“The Flowers of Evil”, analysis of the collection by Charles Baudelaire
The collection “The Flowers of Evil” is the poetic peak of all Charles Baudelaire’s work. He conceived it as a poetic copy of Dante’s Divine Comedy. The first edition of the collection was published in 1857, but it was constantly supplemented by new poems. It is difficult to call “The Flowers of Evil” an ordinary collection: verses are read in a single work in which the development of a certain thought is clearly traced. This is a real confession of a wandering soul, its pain and suffering in life’s quest.

Critical analysis of the “Mansfield Park” novel by Jane Austen
Critical Analysis
In the novel, Mansfield Park, Jane Austen communicates very many ideas in a very complicated way but which readers can understand and relate to. The ideas include the vices and virtues in society. So the book is more about social awareness. Jane Austen has presented the ideas such as classism, marriage, upbringing of people, corruption, and sexuality all in one piece. Just like in the 19th century, these subjects are still as relevant in the modern society today. The author has just succeeded to expound on all these subjects in ways too clear and direct for the time. Thus, the book has had a lot of readership and should continue being read. Continue reading
“Sense and Sensibility”, analysis of the novel by Jane Austen
Critical Novel Analysis
The novel Sense and Sensibility is an amazing piece of literary art developed by Jane Austen. The author intended to tell us a great story of a certain family known as the Dashwoods lived through times of poverty through common sense and sensibility. Their situation gets worse when their dad leaves home and dies. She used two characters from the Dashwood family, Elinor and Marianne, to realistically drive these two main points home. Elinor represents prudence whereas Marianne represents emotionality during bad economic times. In our world today, we can also relate to Jane Austen’s message due to what is happening in our society. During bad economic times, we need to be use our common senses to make it out of that rut. But at the same time, we need to be mindful so as not to hurt others feelings in our own pursuit of economic freedom. It is for this reason that Jane Austen’s Sense and Sensibility is a must-read for everyone. Continue reading

“A Carcass”, analysis of the poem by Charles Baudelaire
The poem “A Carcass” by Charles Baudelaire is included in one of his most rebellious collections, Flowers of Evil. If we consider the “Flowers of Evil”, based on the biography of the poet himself, it is important to note that he does not consider it necessary to separate pure feelings from those that develop against the background of the social and political life of his contemporaries. In general, in “Flowers of Evil” one can feel the author’s desire to expand the sphere of traditional poetry, singing beauty, nature, love and other eternal values. After all, Baudelaire has a prominent place reserved for the ugly, disgusting.
